“Tosca” is never out of fashion. After 119 years from the first performance in Rome, the three-act melodrama of Maestro Giacomo Puccini, with the libretto by Giuseppe Giacosa and Luigi Illica, arrived on Sunday 24 March at the Teatro Cagnoni in Vigevano. The event immediately had the taste of “great occasions”, so much so that the tickets were already sold out two months before the performance. This is mainly thanks to the great names of the world lyric scene: Daria Masiero, Tosca, Fabio Armiliato, Cavaradossi, and Fabio Previati in the shoes of Scarpia.
“Certainly the prestige of the internationally famous protagonists, the soprano Daria Masiero and the tenor Fabio Armiliato, – affirms Andrea Raffanini, the director of the Orchestra Città di Vigevano – has contributed not a little to make this representation a sold-out Tosca with ten minutes of final applause”.
